The "leather" texture is great because it helps distract from the uneven surface under the contact paper.

This was an excellent match for the set. Since other snare drums are painted black (for the reason to tone down 'ring' from the metal body)I decided to also cover another snare drum with this leatherette wrap. It worked as intended; looks nice and dampens any ring from the metal body. My only reason for not giving the contact paper 5 stars is that I was hoping it might

Love this product! The paper sticks easily, you can cut it to the desired shape. It comes off easily too, without leaving any kind of residue. Also, it is water-resistant so I can wipe off the surface easily without soaking it.
